How to make Tikuli art
Hello friends,
As I have already told you that I will write about how to make Tikuli art, so let's have a look.
Preparation of Board:
Making Tikuli art piece is a time taking long process which is very artistic and its also not that easy. First of all we have to prepare the board for the painting. Previously hardboard was used for Tikuli art but now MDF board is used to make it because it is fit for Tikuli art in all the situations. Take a MDF board, rub it with a sand paper to make it little bit smoother, than we have to colour it with 70 per cent of black and 30 pet cent of red mixed in it. Let it dry properly. After that rub it with a sand paper and put an another coating of the same mixtures if colours on it. Undergoing with same process for at least 4 to 5 times, the board will be fully prepared to make Tikuli art on it.
Subject:
Now choose your subject whatever you want to draw. Either draw it directly on the board by the glass marker or you can first draw it on tracing paper properly and then trace it on the board. Tracing paper would be the best option for it.
Colouring:
Colouring wise first you have to go through white linings then next step is colour filling and then the third step is black lining, the toughest part. And now you can design and decorate it in your own way. Decoration is the most interesting part of it.
So this was all about, how to make Tikuli art. I hope this informations will help you to create something different in your own artistic world.
Thank you......
As I have already told you that I will write about how to make Tikuli art, so let's have a look.

Tikuli Painting The Art of Patna.(revival)
Hi friends,
In one of my privious blog, I have said that I will write in detail about Tikuli Art.

Tikuli art or Tikuli painting is a kind of an indian form of art. It is a folk art of Bihar which was originated in the city kinwn as Patna which is the capital of Bihar .
Tittle: Radhe Krishna |
Tikuli is a Hindi word which means 'Bindi'. Bindi is a kind of a jewellery which every indian women use to wear on their forehead in the middle of their brows.
These Tikuli or bindi was made by glassess and was designed by gold on it, that's why it was so expensive and even after that there was a good marketing values of Tikuli art. But when cheap artificial bindis came to the market at a very low price then the craze of Tikuli started getting lower day by day and peoples and workers stopped producing it for further. This was the reason due to which this art started getting vanished from the market and was called vanishing art of Patna.
Then, after moving a long, a well known popular artist of Bihar, Late Chitrachrya Padmashree Upendra Maharathi was on his visit to Japan in the year 1954. There he found the art of Japan was being made on hardboard which inspired him to bring the Tikuli art again towards the peoples of Bihar in his own way, and he worked a lot for the revival of Tikuli art. He portrayed Tikuli art on the hardboard but somehow his effort didn't gained that much of popularity till he passed away.
After that Mr. Ashok Kumar Bishwas, a popular artist and painter stepped in this field in the year 1975 to take Tikuli art on a new level. He worked hard to develop the art into the source of our livelihood. And due to his effort the art gained so much popularity that in Asian games of the year 1982 Tikuli art pieces were gifted to the best players by Smt. Indira Gandhi, then prime minister of India.
Today so many peoples likes this art and for its betterment so many artist are working on it.
So this was all about the revival of Tikuli art. In my next blog I will tell you that how to make a Tikuli art.
